Where our data comes from. We source our data from the official sites of each chain we display. To determine “coming soon” locations, we scour their news pages for the latest updates. Everything is hand-curated with care, but there may be gaps or inaccuracies. If we ever send you in the wrong direction, please accept our Texas-sized apology.
Where the roadtrip line comes from. The route a roadtrip is measured against is a real driving route, fetched once from OSRM and baked into this page. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, under the Open Database License. Both ends of a roadtrip are towns from the picker, and the drive between every pair of them is baked into this page — so the miles you see are road miles, every time.
What happens when you click NEAR ME. Your browser will ask permission, and saying no is fine; the city and zip boxes do the same job. If you say yes, the location stays on your device and is only used to measure distances. Nothing is sent to us and nothing is saved. Reload and it’s forgotten, though your browser remembers your answer and won’t ask twice.
What the Settings do. Yer Stuff has two of them: which app a Directions button opens, and what colour the page is. Both are saved on this device alongside your bookmarks and itineraries, so they’re still set after a reload — and Forget everything on this device clears them along with everything else.
How a Directions link hands over. Apple takes a whole itinerary in one link on iOS 18.4 and later; an older iPhone ignores the extra stops and shows you the last one on its own. Google takes three stops at a time on a phone, so a long itinerary hands over as a few legs.
